Westcon Mobilizes for Desert Hot Springs Police Department Annex

Desert Hot Springs, CA — Westcon Construction Services has begun work on the site concrete package for the Desert Hot Springs Police Department Annex, a key addition to the city’s expanding public-safety campus. The annex is part of a broader plan city leaders have highlighted to enhance service delivery and reduce response times across a fast-growing community. At a recent groundbreaking, officials emphasized that the annex “will play a vital role in enhancing public safety services in Desert Hot Springs.” (KESQ)

Designed and delivered with W.E. O’Neil Construction, the project scope includes foundations, flatwork, accessible paths of travel, curbs and gutters, and hardscape that ties the annex to existing facilities. Westcon’s crews are sequencing pours to maintain access for police operations and city staff while ensuring high-finish quality and ADA compliance. The team’s QC plan covers subgrade proofing, dowel alignment, surface tolerances, and jointing layouts to keep the schedule tight and the product durable for decades of daily use.

The annex arrives as the city continues to invest in public safety and community confidence. This spring, local stations covered the city’s public-safety campus planning and the annex milestone—coverage that underscores the community’s expectation for reliable infrastructure and modern facilities. By delivering the backbone concrete systems that make the building usable—sidewalks, ramps, staging pads, apparatus access, and secure entries—Westcon’s work turns the vision into a safe, functional reality. Westcon’s safety program is tailored to active municipal sites: secured work zones, daily tailgate meetings, and coordinated deliveries to limit disruptions. Field leadership is targeting a no-rework turnover through embedded inspections at form-set, reinforcement, and pre-pour checkpoints. With each pour, the annex moves closer to providing officers, professional staff, and residents with a dependable facility that supports the city’s long-term plan for service coverage and community engagement.
